Room 23 Work (Ms Brennan’s Class)

March 26, 2020 Admin

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all keeping well. I know that some of the children are stressed and anxious at this difficult time. Please do not feel pressure to complete the all the work the children have been assigned. The work is there for students who would like to complete it. Students should continue working through their QQI Folders given out to some students on the last day of school.

I have also set up an account on web.seesaw.me .

Seesaw is a free online learning tool. It will allow me to upload work for the students in the class. It allows me to add videos / voice record / templates etc to help the students complete the work.

Students can complete the work digitally online or print off template and complete it by hand. Students also have the option of taking photos / videos / voice recordings of their work and upload it. Only I can see what the children respond, and I can correct it.

Seesaw is very simple to set up and use. You can use it on an I pad, desktop, phone etc. You will need to use an email address to set up your login. The code for our class once you have logged in is: OVIY IAHS

I will put up a few activities each week so keep an eye out! Here is a link to a video about setting it up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5jG9VoROFs

This app is new to me also so please bear with me while I am initially figuring it out.

Besides for this there are some fantastic websites your child can be working from: www.topmarks.co.uk www.twinkl.ie https://www.khanacademy.org/ www.oxfordowl.co.uk

Folens and Cj Fallon have unlocked their online resources so you can have a look through them if you wish.

This is also an ideal time to work on developing basic life skills which are extremely important to our children:

Help make the dinner.

Dress their bed.

Do the laundry.

Set the table.

Help in the garden.

Tie their laces.

Hover.

These are just some examples which the students can work on during this time.

Take care and I can’t wait to catch up with everyone when we are back to school.

Aisling
